Dies ist die erste Studie aus der Reihe „Therese“. Grundlage für dieses Porträt war ein Foto – und dennoch hat sich das Bild beim Zeichnen stark verselbständigt. Die Ähnlichkeit ist da, aber es ist auch etwas ganz Eigenes entstanden. Besonders die Augen haben mich von Anfang an fasziniert – sie sind der Mittelpunkt, das, was bleibt.

This is the first study of the series „Therese“. The reference was a photo, but during the process, the drawing took on its own form. There’s a resemblance, but also something entirely new. From the beginning, it was the eyes that fascinated me – they became the core of the image, the lasting element.
